The reason every girl needs to do a boudoir shoot is to have that time to reset the sexy button on their life and remember that being a woman is the greatest gift in life that can be given...... We have been revered throughout history since the beginning!! WHO IS THE BOUDOIR CAFE AND WHY WE ARE FABULOUS 🙂

When alot of clients come into the studio and finally meet us for their experience, There is alot of asking who we are and the story about us!! So I thought since I am bringing my website up to date and giving it a facelift I would tell our story before you get into the studio so you feel like you already know us. I find that a lot of women do say that and have read the info on us but here I thought I would put up old photos and highlights of our lives together and tell the what some call a great story for all!! Is there a Difference Between Beauty Inspired Personal Portraits and Boudoir Style Photography? There is a difference and it encompasses an entire range of ideas and what is possible. Actually the ideas and feelings and the why we are doing this photo is endless and therefore very exciting. There is Boudoir photography and there is a portrait and between there is what is called Glamour. This leaves the stage open to anything and everything. In these days of really fast changes and memories going by so fast, and with the explosion of short videos for social media, I am really thrilled to be a still photographer…..don’t get me wrong, I find myself shooting more and more videos for clients who are asking for it but it also forces me to make more compelling images that tell a story…emotional portraits? I KNOW YOU ARE NERVOUS TO DO A BOUDOIR SHOOT BUT DO IT ANYWAY!!!!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BOOKING A BOUDOIR SESSION WITH US!! IT IS TOTALLY OK TO BE NERVOUS....Most girls are because after all most of us are not in front of the camera for a living...!! Also you are going outside of your comfort zone! OUR BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY REALIZATIONS….

It suddenly occurred to me as we were shooting our most recent clients this week, that Cherie and I have a very unique shooting style> We shoot side by side with different cameras and different lenses and we get two different perspectives at the same time using a combination flash and continuous light…we are constantly pushing to get the next great shot…all the while making the clients get over their fears of being the subject and being photographed we create a party atmosphere with great music and drink …. …..our last clients were a couple that came to us for a boudoir shoot and we had to think about how to add a man into the mix We have not been shooting couples so this seemed like a good opportunity to explore further #couplesboudoir . Traditionally the men are never on the boudoir set unless he is the photographer….in this case however the man in this couple was very much in love with the woman so the emotion was already there….they had great fashion sense which made our work a little easier They brought samples of images they were interested in and Champagne with glasses…I could get use to this! THE HISTORY OF BOUDOIR

The History of Boudoir Photography Boudoir photography has picked up in popularity over the past several years, but there are still those who consider sexy images of the female for to be taboo or inappropriate. To understand the beauty behind that art of boudoir photos and photography, you must know the history. Boudoir art started to come about in the 1920s as an alternative to the illegal activity of nude photographs. As we know from Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, “well behaved women seldom make history”, so as with most illegal activities, there were rebels. In this case, photographers got creative and really took the direction of boudoir into a new space by photographing larger women against elaborate backdrops. Then, in the 1940s the focus of boudoir turned from large women to pin-up girls. Pin-up girls would be slightly curvy and wear corsets, men’s ties and stockings. During this time, the incorporation of props into boudoir poses was started. The biggest change in the evolution of the art of boudoir was in the 1970s. BRIDAL BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY AS WEDDING NIGHT GIFTS!!!

Bridal Boudoir Photography There has been a trend for gifting new husbands after the wedding that has become super popular; bridal boudoir photography. Unlike the previous photos and selfies you have sent your significant other, a professional should take your bridal boudoir photos. Many wedding photographers will offer bridal boudoir shoots as an added service, but if your photographer doesn’t offer this service, then most cities offer photographers who specialize in this boudoir photography style. Keep in mind that while these are secret gifts for your new spouse, boudoir is hardly X-rated. Think of it as PG-13 with classic pinup-inspired pictures, or what the professionals call 'implied nudes.' Lingerie for Every Body…Literally! Lingerie is meant to make a woman feel sexier, but what happens if she doesn’t feel sexy in her own skin due to her physical appearance? Has anyone had a computer crash? Has anyone had a hard drive crash? That is why you need to print those very special prints and do them well and do them with great printers and have a pro do them for you!! It is not the same printing your images if you are not a pro.... This is what photographers do all day long and they know the ropes.. Also retouching and editing.. Please have the pro's do it... They also do them all day long!!! I had a client that yes was in an evacuation area of Colorado and she grabbed the kids and the big prints that I had made for her!! THE POWER OF HIGH HEELS

I think we all remember the first time, as little girls, when we tried on high heels. We stumbled like baby giraffes, trying to emulate the way we saw our mothers walk. And later, as teens, it was runway models we had in mind as we slipped on strappy stilettos. And, of course, there is a reason for this. When we saw our mothers walk in high heels, we admired her stature and her grace as our first role models. And then super models became our idols with their smirking, pouty lips and quick and confident strut. Ever since we were dreamy young women, heels have been a symbol of power and adulthood. And for good reason! We now know that when we put on high heels, they lift us above our normal height; in the workplace they lift us above men and above the glass ceiling; and when we down the street (whether it be to the office or to the club) the smart noise the heels make against the concrete assures of our womanly strength. However, if you analyze what it is trying to say, you realize that there is not only much reality behind it, but much reality as well. Hi fabulous women of the world! Feminism is often confused with the eras of suffragist voting rights, bra-burning, and the fight for birth control. And while these ideas are important to keep in mind, the modern, third wave of feminism is something we must understand and pay attention to. In essence, third-wave feminism is marked by the goal of complete gender equality between men and women in the 21st century and beyond. That means equal pay in the workplace and equal treatment of men and women in every sphere -- including the right to have the freedom of sexual expression that men have had for centuries, while women were repressed in this sector. Yes, women's bodies have been admired and lusted over by both men and women alike since the beginning of time. But what this essentially comes down to is the fact that the semi- or full-nudity of women has in effect turned a woman's body into an object, a statue of lust. You can see it today on magazines, runways, billboards, television shows and movies; and unfortunately much of the women we personally know in our generation, including young girls. STRONG, LONG BEAUTIFUL EYELASHES — NATURALLY!

Hi boudoir beauties! As you may know, The Boudoir Cafe does a full hair and makeup session just for you before your boudoir photoshoot. During makeup, one question Hedley, me, and our makeup artiste always get asked is, "Where in the world do you, and the girls you photograph, get such long, full, amazing lashes?" Usually, for most boudoir photo sessions, our team at The Boudoir Cafe sees girls come in asking for fake lashes; or have gotten eyelash extensions beforehand (especially if it's for a special occasion like a wedding.) Our makeup artiste personally prefers the fake eyelashes. They add volume and sexiness in a pinch! You can bat those beauties at the camera for hours! But, while both fake eyelashes and eyelash extensions have both been on the market for quite a while (and have some proven great results -- as you can see from many of our photos) they do have their downsides. The thing about these two products is: 1. Fake lashes are just that: fake. They are glued on, and they fall off. THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO PIN-UP VERSUS BOUDOIR!!

Hi loves! The Boudoir Cafe team always gets asked this question: what is the difference between pin-up and boudoir? Understandably, it's easy to get confused between pin-up and boudoir. They are both sexy, tasteful photographs done in a fun photoshoot environment, and they are both meant to help you find that sexy side of yourself. Except there are a few key differences between pin-up and boudoir. When we say pin-up, we are taken back to the early 1900's, when these photos first became popular. As a result of the sexual repression of the previous eras -- and the dawning of this first sexually-accepting one -- pin-up photos became popular. "Pin-up" refers to photos of women that are meant to be pinned up on walls, to be admired. It was burlesque performers who first started this trend of posing for pin-up photos, in order to advertise themselves. The pin-up photos of course did not bare too much nudity, as this was still a taboo. The girls were mostly clothed (though the outfits are noticeably tight and formfitting) and were usually in a playful pose; and instead used a certain glance (usually one of surprise) to signify the true, underlying meaning of…

Hello all my lovely ladies of all shapes, sizes, genders, and abilities! The power of boudoir is that it recognizes the beauty in every woman. Because every woman is beautiful. The team at The Boudoir Cafe has had the pleasure of working with plus size girls -- of which we say: Plus Size? How about natural, normal, gorgeous size. Though the industry has coined the term "Plus Size," we don't necessarily believe in it, because it implies that this is a specific category of girl recognized for her beauty apart from a norm unhealthily established by the industry. Girls can be -- and should be -- any size or shape they want, whatever size or shape their body is naturally. Because natural is beautiful. WE ARE OLDER BUT WITH THAT COMES WISDOM!!!

There's this common misconception that boudoir photography is only for younger women. It's so wrong it's ridiculous. It's assuming that only young women can be sexy, that only young women can be beautiful. SO wrong. Older woman are just as -- or even more beautiful than -- the young woman you think you see plastered all over the media. Older women doing boudoir photography is something Hedley, my team, and I at The Boudoir Cafe have personal experience with. And we see it often. Honestly, older women doing boudoir makes sense! They have more experience, they have known their bodies longer. They know how they look, how they move, how they feel sexy. And, if they have been with their partner for a long time, they know what they're looking for as well. KOREAN NAIL ART AND BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi wonderful world and beautiful readers! We had the total pleasure of hosting four beautiful Korean women today to do a photo shoot for one of the girls. Hany was amazing and her friends came along to help her to make her fell loved and pampered during this process and experience!! Well to tell you the truth it was an amazing afternoon -- all the girls had an absolute blast!! This really made me think of something that is important to us at The Boudoir Cafe: making sure all cultures feel comfortable in their own skin, wherever they are. In this country, we have this great right of freedom, and such a huge amount of acceptance. The final passage of marriage equality shows how we are making leaps of tolerance. But I want to talk about more than tolerance here. I want to talk about cultural pride, loving one's own skin because of the heritage, ethnicity, and history you own in yourself. GIFT – BOUDOIR SPA PACKAGES FOR XMAS AND VALENTINE’S DAY

Well we had the most fabulous call a few weeks ago from an amazing husband and father that wanted to do something special for his wife. One of those Beverly Hills housewives that has everything!! Well he found us and the party began. Peter was a Dad and Husband and had this idea for his Wife that was really so speical that we had to write about it. He got it. He got this entire Boudoir , pampering, princess for a day thing. He also got the idea that he was going to pick his wife up after the shoot and take her to a nice dinner and then home hopefully to bed. He knew he was going to get photos of his wife and that she will look different than she had ever looked. That the 3 kids and the years of being a mom was going to be in the back ground. CHARITY AND BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY WITH THE BOUDOIR CAFE

We had the total pleasure of being asked to help an animal rescue program called Shelter Hope . Dani the PR woman and co Founder of Shelter Hope was in a meeting to talk fund raising and the idea of calendar came up....Hey lets get naked and do a calendar for the rescue work we do!!! Well Dani said if there are going to be 12 naked girls posing with their animals for a calendar then I know the perfect people to shoot it for us!!! That would be Cherie & Hedley. Next came the phone call....Dani was sweet and a bit shy to ask but as soon as I heard the premise I was in. Helping animals and 12 naked girls. Yes that is a great idea I am sure I said. The stage was set.....After I had agreed to do the shoot the cast of characters that agreed to go naked for the good of saving lives started to come out. The list was actually amazing and super fun. BOUDOIR AT THE BELLAGIO HOTEL OUR NEW FAV

We had an amazing few days shooting some serious Boudoir at the amazing Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas in the Penthouse Suite....OMG is all i can say.... It was magic.....Las Vegas is becoming our new headquarters and we are shooting there as much as we are shooting in LA now.....Or we have alot of girls wanting something different and flying here to shoot with us.....from Vegas...It is all very exciting....That people from all over the country now are finding us.... We had a group of women from Paris and my favorite neighborhood St. Germaine (the Beverly Hills of Paris) girlfriends since they were in grade school all very established business women. They decided to come to LV and do this fantasy experience with The Boudoir Café!!! We shot for 2 days in the Penthouse Suite at the Bellagio and it really was magic for all of us. A real experience and life altering feeling......Then we shot an amazing world traveling adventurer straight off a safari in Africa....Cannot post any pics but this one was ok....to post we were told.....!!! We are making art for people to put on their walls and guests will not even know the photo is them....like this…

Well working doing Boudoir photography for all kinds of fabulous women is work too!! LOL..Not really we love it all...We love the faces of our girls when they get their photos and the joy this entire experience brings to our clients. In a world of so many weird things that happen to women from other countries and the turmoil and actual slavery that most women on the planet find themselves in we in North America are some of the luckiest women on the planet. We are free to be women and express ourselves as women. I am thrilled that we get to be apart of this amazing movement to help women be free and empowered and totally able to express anything they want to and not be persecuted for any of it. We often shoot projects that inspire us and it is all about the imagery and the film... We have a great team and always find creative outlets for our creative boudoir photography...... We recently met a new muse Simone and are doing a project with and for her which will be both artistic imagery and film.....
